The Haynes Racing team took to the track May 5th to begin the 2012 racing season. Bryan debuted the new look of his race car with the colors of red and yellow and with a new number, 87, in honor of his sister Megan who had hoped to run the Powder Puff race.

Brad Haynes came out in the backup car #88 while waiting to get the rest of the parts for his car.

Will Hadcock who has joined up with the Haynes team this year came out in his purple #34.

The opening day of racing began with practice and qualifying for all cars for line up in the heat races. Line up for the feature race came from where the cars finished in the heat starting with the top four cars then filling in from there with the remaining cars.

The feature race saw Will Hadcock starting in position 9 with Bryan and Brad Haynes in 17th and 18th respectively.

It was a short race for Bryan as with the drop of the green flag going into turn one a slight tap on the brakes brought the rear end of the #87 around and put the left front end into the inside wall of turn one. This was the end of the evening for Bryan as he walked away and the car was taken back to the Haynes pit on the hook. Bryan had been fighting a motor issue that was unresolved until after his heat race when Doug Holmes found the motor to be tuned at 70 degrees. Luckily this was found as it could have resulted in a blown motor.

The next eight laps of the feature race went fairly smoothly until Will had issues with his panhard mount in the purple #34 and he found himself in the outside wall of turn three to bring his racing evening to an end as well.

That left Brad on the track and within five laps he too would find himself seeing his evening end when getting together with car 01 of Dalton Doyle that broke off the wheel and wheel mount putting him into the outside wall of turn four.

While not a good night for the Haynes Brothers and Will Hadcock it is this type of evening that makes a race team exactly that, a team. They will spend the next three weeks tearing apart, putting back together, discussing, and sharing what happened Saturday night to learn from each other and grow into a stronger race team.

Racing will continue for Haynes Team on Memorial Day weekend.

There will be a benefit for the Haynes Race Team May 19th at the VFW in Mexico from 1-5. Please come show your support.

As always the team appreciates your support at the track.

A few years ago Bryan made a deal with me that I could drive his car for two races after all the work I put into it and he held up his end of the bargain! It got me hooked so I went racing last year with Pit Watson.” Will said recently. “These guys are like family and I know we all have a shot to win this season as long as we work together”

“It is exciting to have will back with us” said Bryan “He has always been a huge help for me when I can’t work on my car and I do what I can to help him with his. We are great friends and with three top cars this season coming out of one shop we hope to be very competitive.”

Haynes Racing will be fielding three cars out of their shop in Mexico, the #87/#37 Teddneck Racing machine, a new #88 for Brad, and Will’s own #34. Stay tuned for more updates from the Haynes Racing Team as we get closer to the 2012 Season.

For the second season in a row Haynes Racing and Teddneck Racing will team up to field a car for Bryan Haynes. After a successful second half of the season in 2011 which saw Bryan run the #37 at the front of the field, pick up a heat win, and drive to a 7th place finish in the classic the team is excited about the 2012 season.

Somethings will change for Bryan and Teddneck Racing in 2012, most notably the number Bryan will campaign. Bryan will switch from the #37 to the #87. “The #87 was my sisters number when she raced quarter midgets and has yet to be run by the Haynes Racing team since. I am really excited to bring the number out and it still allows me to be identified with both the Teddneck and Haynes Racing teams.”

Brad Haynes will also return in 2012 in the Haynes racing #86 with it renumbered to #88. Brad has plans for many changes to the Chassis for this year and is eager to hit the track.

Haynes Racing will be holding a fundraiser in May. Please stay tuned for more information.
